I've added the shot above to my Pacific Northwest gallery. These wind turbines, numbering over 120, operate in Kittitas Valley, Washington, near the city of Ellensburg. Once upon a time, way back when, the land these turbines stand on belonged to my family. This was many, many years ago, when you could stand on a hill at one end of a ranch and not be able to see the end of your own land, miles distant.
I processed this with Nik's Silver Efex Pro 2. I really wanted the turbine blades to stand out against the sky, which was a very deep shade of blue. The blades themselves were turning, slowly, and making a surprising amount of noise in the process.
